In the first 30 years of your life, you make your habits. For the last 30 years of your life, your habits make you. - Steve Jobs
I have been cultivating a routine that I have been very proud of. I just started having this routine around 6 months ago, since I noticed that successful people had focused routines. I have stolen every one of these habits from podcasts or books I have read. I'm a thief!
I journal as I wake up. I do this by writing what I am grateful for, some thoughts, self-affirmations, and if I can remember, my dreams.
I meditate by watching this video when I wake up.
The secret to a great day is by having a successful evening before. I do this by journaling and writing what I need to get done the next day and scheduling it on my Google Calendar.
I have mostly quit drinking due to focused prioritization.
At the beginning of the month, I put my monthly goal in my Google Calendar.
Every Sunday, I write my weekly goals and place on my Google Calendar the main goals of that week to look back on. I do this while journaling.
I try to workout every day, and go on a run at 6am on Mondays to do something hard to start the week.
Here are my current splits:
Every 2-weeks I send an email to founders I admire and people who are involved in startups, discussing this: What I said I was going to do, What did I do, What am I going to do next, What keeps me up at night
I also do weekly accountability checks, using this google form that I took from Christina
I have always struggled with social media so I have deleted most of the social media apps. I still use Twitter/X occasionally and keep my LinkedIn (which I hope to delete soon). I block most websites on my computer so they don't distract me
I try to limit phone use throughout the day. Before bed, I place my phone downstairs so I don't use it before bed and wake up without my phone. This has been a wonderful change.
This year I have begun going to therapy.
I was meeting a tutor on Preply once a week to learn Russian, but have stopped for now due to time constraints.
